“I have four best friends out of the states. We share stories and we help each other when we are down. I know that we all have different roles and different schedules, so a phone call from them means a lot to me. A call from Guatemala to here can be expensive if it’s for a long time. So that makes my day, because I know that they don’t really care about paying money just to say hello or good morning. My mother is four or five hours away from where they live. If I need something and I want them to see how my mother is doing, they won’t mind going over there to help her out. Sometimes I send a package and they deliver it for me. That makes me think about how lucky I am to have them. I think that God put them over there for a reason.”
