“My Hidden Chaplain is Carmen, she works in facilities. Sometimes working here can be very busy, very chaotic and she allows me to take a pause and experience pure joy in our conversations. Not only does she maintain our building, but she honestly makes the time to maintain personal relationships with us. She has an incredible sense of humor and this really captivating personality. I always look forward to seeing her, it’s always a pleasure and joy.

One significant moment was when I was having a really rough day. She just stopped and checked and said, ‘Loretta, is everything okay? I noticed that you were feeling a little bit down.’ She took the time to notice that something was off, to check in and offer support and encouragement. But she’s done that multiple times in various ways. It means everything. It’s good to know that people care. It’s also good to know that you matter to someone.”
