“I chose my wife to be my hidden chaplain, because there’s no one else I would like to see at the start of my day and at the end of my night. When people marry I think it should not just be for financial gain or to make kids. The person you marry should be someone who encourages you to be your best every day, and she definitely does that.

We actually met in Princeton. We were both working in food service. She was in Rocky-Mathey and I was in the Grad College. We’ve been together 22 years. She knows I like peanuts and little treats so if I’m feeling down and I get in my car there’ll be a bag of peanuts or something that I like. She definitely surprises me when I least expect it. Leaving me little notes. Usually when things are getting bad she’ll say something really silly – let’s me know that everything is okay and also reminds me that I’m not going through it by myself. We like each other, not just love each other. It definitely helps.”
